La sospechosa, Amanda Jaramillo, hab\u00eda estado qued\u00e1ndose con la v\u00edctima en su residencia durante un per\u00edodo de tiempo. Durante el transcurso de la noche, Jaramillo atac\u00f3 a la v\u00edctima con un bate de b\u00e9isbol, golpe\u00e1ndolo numerosas veces en la cabeza y el cuerpo. En ese momento, la v\u00edctima no estaba en posici\u00f3n de defenderse y sufri\u00f3 varias lesiones, lo que provoc\u00f3 que fuera transportado y tratado en un hospital local. Durante su contacto con los agentes que respondieron, Jaramillo indic\u00f3 que su intenci\u00f3n era matar a la v\u00edctima. Jaramillo fue arrestada por 664\/187 (a) PC (Intento de homicidio) y registrada en el Centro de Detenci\u00f3n Preventiva, con una fianza de $520,000.
